OF John Hancock and of -gate

I can't believe how much historical significance these 2 entities in the title bring to the world.

John Hancock = Signature

He is primarily remembered by Americans for his large, flamboyant signature on the Declaration, so much so that "John Hancock" became, in the United States, an informal synonym for signature. According to legend, Hancock signed his name largely and clearly so that King George could read it without his spectacles, but this fanciful story did not appear until many years later. (Quote from Wikipedia)

-gate = scandals
The suffix -gate derives from the Watergate scandal of the United States in the early 1970s, which resulted in the resignation of U.S. President Richard Nixon.
